Springs

My '72 GMC K2500 has a set of 4" lift springs on the back (and front). I would like to get a set of original rears. My truck has the "Heavy Rear Spring" option. What does that mean? Mine has 2 1/2" wide springs. I have seen 2X4's with 2 1/4" wide springs. Were all 4X4's 2 1/2"?

My truck originally had overload springs (the brackets are still on the frame). How may springs would have been on the main stack? Overload Stack?

Did 2X4's with overloads have the same spring stack as mine did?

If someone can answer all of my questions I will be amazed.

Also, How many springs would be under the front end? 2 or 3 on each side?

Just sitting there, are they bowed over, about flat of bowed up?

I don't know if this will help you, but the K-10 had 2 leafs in front, bowed upwards. I'm just finishing unmolesting the 4" lift from my 71, and my rear pack is 6 leafs, the bottom being a short helper type. The SPID calls it out as heavy duty rear spring or something like that. I was all worried about the butt end sitting too high with that added spring, but now that it's on the stockers all around, the rear sits about 1" lower than the front. I'm guessing the junkyard front leafs I picked up must have been removed when they were pretty new, so don't have any sag. I'm going to drive it for a while and see if it doesn't level out. It looks SO much better without the lift though, and the ride is smooth smooth smooth.
