That's the rare HD C/30 with 13,000# axle option. Notice the wide 5-lug front/10-lug rear. That's an awesome truck.

This would be a good candidate for a truck bed. For me, all of the fire truck stuff would have to go.

Aw man, I'd leave all the fire stuff and paint it blood red with Squad 51 on the doors in gold. That thing is AWESOME!

Re: CL Fire Truck For Sale / Not mine

It already has a truck bed. I'd either restore it as a fire truck or put some other purpose-built body on it,like a dump bed, utility, wrecker, flatbed, etc, and use it. It would be a waste to make it a pickup.

What I don't understand is why it is so rusty. In a town close to me they have a 67 "Grass Rig" that is PERFECT. Don't those guys down there take care of their equipment?

I would NOT have titled that E-Bay listing "Parade Ready". That is about as far from parade ready as can be. No mention of how many miles on the truck or whether or not it even runs (except the pumps).

That is really a neat old truck, I've only seen a couple C/30s with the H110 heavy rear axle...Love those 19.5s but they could have done a better job painting them!

Re: CL Fire Truck For Sale / Not mine

I have only seen two or three also. One was for sale in the late-80s and I wanted it bad. It was a 71/72 GMC 133",Red/White top with an Omaha Standard flatbed/cattle rack. It was all painted up nice, even with the pinstripe on the bed and racks. The wheels and bumpers were white and it had the only set of white 71/72 bumper guards I ever saw. As I recall it was a guy who restores IH Farmalls. This thing was a "pride & joy" example of a farm truck.
These things should be called C/40s. They were in the prior body design.

DANG! That is cool! I vote with "domeier". Red with gold lettering. Probably a good thing I'm too far away to stop and look at it.

Re: CL Fire Truck For Sale / Not mine

What the hell is it about fire trucks that turn grown men into six year-olds? I want to OWN that thing, and just sit in it with the lights flashing and blip the siren, and hose the driveway down with the pump. GOD, that thing is the coolest toy.
