Trailing arms cross member fliped?

Hello, I saw a post on a trailing arm center section fliped.. thoughts on this for drag racing and still driving it on the street?

Also, I was looking at this for adjustability.. Is this a good idea? At a minimum I guess I could route my new exhaust through it.

I had originally flipped just the brackets on mine years ago to promote more anti-squat, and bite on the starting line. Remember, you may still have to use pinion shims between the trailing arms and axle to correct pinion angle. I am thinking of getting with Super73 for some of his brackets to make the IC height adjustable. (similar to a ladder bar). Hope this helps. Paul

Every time I see that $300 kit I laugh. I made my brackets way before they came out with theirs and total investment was maybe $20 and about 2 hours. But I guess they are the ones laughing to the bank selling at such a large profit..

I thought maybe... maybe the bushings might be worth it.. but those brackets are WAY to expensive... Isn't the second link I posted the same thing except a whole new cross member with exhaust options?

I don't have access to a welder in florida really. My friend has a 220 but for suspension work? Is that enough? I haven't seen the mod for this by Super 73. I'm assuming welding would be required?

For bushings for the trailing arms.. right now they are stock 64 equipment ... from 1964. Any recomendations?

Nitrous Times:
5.785 1/8 @ 118.65 with a 1.336 60ft
9.168 1/4 @ 142.58 with a 250 shot dead out of the hole!

Yes, the Porterbuilt part would do the same thing as the Hotchkis, for a lot less money and give you room for your exhaust.
For the bushings, at a minimum, I would replace them with some urethane ones from Energy Suspension or someone like that.

No welding required for my home made brackets, just a grinder, drill, hammer and punch. Oh, and some time.

Aggie91 - Thanks for mentioning our adjustable brackets. They are great for tuning the rear suspension for best results, just ask Rob Phillips and Mike Hickman.

Just curious, why didn't you add more adjustability like my home made bracket has? (both up and down)

One more thought, the shim you are providing with the kit, I'd assume this only corrects pinion angle for one set of holes? Or do you provide multiple shims?

My measuring/testing showed that for every 1" of movement at the LCA mounting point, an additional 1* of shim was required. Just curious. But you guys probably already knew that a one shim for all adjustments wouldn't work to correct pinion angle.
