1970 Black Dahlia
This is my first build. I picked her up early January 2011, i wasn't ready to buy a truck yet but when i first saw this one the price was right. I am currently 20 years old and I am looking to make this truck different, build on a budget, and do all/ most of the work myself. Tell me what you think or if you have any suggestions.

Re: 1970 Black Dahlia
Looks like a great starting point! What are you all planning on doing? I will never again have a vehicle that does not have serpentine belts. If u are looking for a simple and easy mod that I personally would do is to get a complete serpentine system off of a 88-94 SBC and it will bolt straight on. Or just don't fix what ain't broken

Re: 1970 Black Dahlia
first thing is first i need to put a bed in. im looking into doing diamond plate. after that a new satin black paint job, rebuild the bench seat, and possibly drop it another inch. do you have an idea of what the cost of that would be for the serpentine system?

Re: 1970 Black Dahlia
At a salvage yard you can score it all for less than 200 bucks. On Craigslist people sell ENTIRE SBC engines complete and running for less than 300 all the time in Houston anyways. And the reliability is unmatched. Thats what I am doing to my BBC, adapting a SB setup to it. I got my entire SBC setup for less than 100 bucks. With the powersteering pump though if you get it you have to change the newer pressure side fitting out with your existing one. Car craft did a write up on this if you put "budget serpentine system" into Google.
