Re: Pics of new shop build.
Brings back memories of building my shop. Yours looks great!! Looks like a 12' ceiling to clear a 2 post lift.
How far are you from gatlinburg? I'm there now, going home tomorrow.

Re: Pics of new shop build.
Thanks Alan. My ceiling is 10 and half foot tall. Wanted to go 12 but I had to build to close to the house. I wanted the roof to match the house's roof line. I am about 4and half hours away from Gatlinburg. Me and the wife love it up there. Have fun.
Oh P.S. how far r u from Gatlingburg?

Re: Pics of new shop build.
It is going to be a working shop. What I mean by that is it will be MY space to build and tinker on the projects I want. Still have a lot to do in the shop. Have air lines to run and insulate plus put the celling in etc,etc.... LOL
Thanks Jamie

Re: Pics of new shop build.
The attic trusses were only 3 dollars per truss so that was a no brainer for me. I wish they were taller but I can get around up there fairly good. Tell me about the kids and drive time. I my son thinks he has to stop about every hour on a trip. Thanks again man.

Re: Pics of new shop build.
I should have went with storage like you did. Instead I made 3 trusses over each bay beefier to carry 1500 lbs for lifting stuff.
Did you have to get permits to build? The reason I asked I noticed the insulation on your back wall is installed with the paper facing you. I did the same thing, but the building inspector made me turn it around. What a PITA. Just curious what the inspectors say up in TN.

Re: Pics of new shop build.
Cool! I actually built my own garage this year as well. You do get a LOT of satisfaction seeing the results of working with your OWN two hands. The gutters went up yesterday and I'm almost done hanging drywall. Once mudded and painted, only the interior window and door trim will remain! Whew...
What I hath wrought: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...4002807&type=3 And, oh yeah, Reason #762 to love my Chevy truck!

This is how ALL the insulation is installed around here. As far as permits the county I live in only requires a electric permit (BUT) that is if you have a meter instaled on the building. I ran a electric line out of my box on the house. Ran # 4 copper with a # 8 Ground and a # 8 neutral in underground conduit.
