Question 1972 C/20 factory cruise control problem.

Hi everybody. Have you ever reworked a factory cruise control to get it working agan? Mine worked a couple of times ten years ago. Then i wrecked the truck. Removed the front clip after the crash. Then it sat until last year. I put it back together. I dont think the vac lines are right. Does anyone have any photos of a corect install? Thanks terry

The service manual has a section in the back that covers it. I don't remember if it shows the vac line routing.

Re: 1972 C/20 factory cruise control problem.

A is the large fitting that comes back to the tee fitting, B is the smaller fitting that goes to the engine vacuum.

A is also connected, by way of the tee, to the shut off valve at the brake pedal
A is also connected, by way of the tee, to the vacuum servo, and off of the tee goes to C

Re: 1972 C/20 factory cruise control problem.

The only problem I have had was when my brake pedal switch was not adjusted right. As mentioned above, the '71 service manual has the cruise stuff in it. If you need parts, the transducers and servos do pop up on Eaby now and then.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the help. I am going to print the diagram and check my routing.
