rear tire size

I have a 70 stepside seems like it is geared to low. I need new tires so thought I would just get taller rear tires instead of gear swap.Do you think a 30/12r/15 will fit without to many problems? I currently have 295/50/15 with no issues

Re: rear tire size

I had a '69 with 33/12.5/15 on the rear and I recall that they were OK unless I had a real heavy load in the bed, then there was slight rubbing. With 3.08 gears and a 4-spd it got real crappy mileage like 10 on the frwy.
