Management decision ????

First a little background : A month or so back, I saw a WTB for a stepside
bed from a fellow member here and i had been kind of lusting for a fleet side bed. So i responded to "Tiger", he lives a couple hours from here and he came over to look at it. Well we struck a deal and i started hunting a fleet bed and found one and got in touch with Tiger and he came and picked the step bed up and i put the fleet on my chassis and everybody was happy.

Now i'm having second thoughts on changing beds and want my truck to be a stepper again.

Don't get me wrong, the fleets are great but!!!

Anyway has anybody but me done something like i'm talking about?

Re: Management decision ????

So go get a new step bed, paint it to match, and you can switch out the beds depending on how you feel that day. Best of both worlds!

Re: Management decision ????

25 yrs ago, I was a mid 20's kid, looking for a short step to build. One of my buds came in & said, AL ....you have to see this old west coast truck! Battered & bruised a bit, but SOLID as a rock....the old truck still has the original rocker panels! All of you boys would chit , if you heard what I payed for that "parts truck", that came from southern California,25yrs ago. After a little research, I couldnt bear to break her into parts....still run that 8 1/2' bed.....been a few mods down the line(chop /channel/drop/steel tilt/frenched tail lites ,ect). I could have chopped her down , into a sb truck......but the long wb is so easy! They slide wide, but slow & easy.....she has twisted this old man HARD sideways, over 100 mph, a few times! Just so you know....the truck does not belong to me(I belong to theat old bioch). crazy L, off the soap box.

Just make quick-attach beds.

One of the things i miss about my stepside is when i took my boat to the lake
i could back down the ramp till the back bumper was in the water, then step up in the bed and go back and un hook the boat from the trailer, step over in the boat and back off the trailer and never get my feet wet, when your fishing
when its cold thats a good thing.

I know this is not the WIW section but, whats a real nice step side complete
fenders, lights, steps etc. going for these days?
