I got 20's. I know it looks funny, but I am going to drop it another 2.5" in front and 2" in back to get rid of some wheel well. If that doesn't help it I will get taller tires and possibly try to run 9.5's in the front too so I can get more dish up there.

your truck looks great. Lots of good details, roll pan, 1 piece glass, shaved fuel filler. You can't make a 67-72 truck look bad (unless wheels/tires stick out past the body)

I love 20's but I agree with the rest of them on the tires. I have heard that you run a risk of bending the wheels easier with such a small side wall. There are some sneaky pot holes out there.

Well, if you guys know of a good size I should run let me know. My dad works at Firestone and these are the only one's I found. They are 26.5" tall. I think I'll have to find a 28" tall tire then to work. I've been looking through magazines trying to find a size I would like. Sucks that I'll have to eat over $800 in tires. Look good hanging on the wall though

They make an OEM size that should work to fill up the wheelwell, 275/45/20 Goodyears (I believe).

I think it looks disgusting...and think you should trade me for my old '67 with the bald 15's...one of them is a snow tire!!!! Seriously...nice ride. I am not sure you need to change it at all. I would have to see a side shot with better lighting to say for sure. 20's only look strange when there is wheel well showing above the tire. Stop, drop and roll...beautiful truck!

what size are those?

245/35/20 is the smallest 20" you can get at 26.8"

i personally would recommend 245/40/20 front (27.7")
and 275/40/20 for back (28.7")

if your going to lower it more then 275/45s will be too big as theyre just under 30"

word from the wise, lower it first, then measure again, then buy your new tires. you dont want to make the same mistake again.

if you take those tires off now while theyre still virtually new you can sell them and cut your losses down to $100-$200.

like some others mentioned, you gotta drive CAREFUL on 35 series tires, you can bend wheels easy, the 40 series will add a little more protection.

anyways the truck looks bad ass with the new wheels. just throw some bigger meats on like everyone said

How's the ride with that setup of wheel and tire? I watched a rice truck in front of me one day and it seemed like he had no shocks or something because I could see the truck bouncing on every little ripple in the road that in my 70 3/4 ton I did not feel. It kinda reminded me of a go kart I used to have.
