Re: show me your 1969 stock red 514 paint

It does look orange...untill you put it next to hugger orange(524). Then you can easily see that it is more red. This blazer is a 72, but it is 514 red. The 4x4 is 524.

The Blazer is 514 Red

The shortbed is 524 Hugger Orange

They look very different sitting next to each other.

Subscribing.

Our '69 GMC stepper was "red/orange" - apparently 514 red.

Red/orange should be hugger orange. I've seen it listed both ways. Ive seen 514 red listed as red, light red, or medium red.

My truck is 514 red but after 40 years of sun light and pigment loss it looks very close to huggar ogange to me.

I really can't recall, after all these years, and unfortunately this is the only photo I have found so far -

(I think you'll agree that doesn't help much....)

This is a '69 or 70, but it was 514 red. The desert sun here just burns color out. Even my red dog burns to orange by fall and he lives in the shade.

i have the same truck only in a long bed version. i can see hits of black primer through the red paint. i'm going to make it look just like yours. your truck has the right stance and killer retro look. nice job.

Re: show me your 1969 stock red 514 paint

I thought red and red orange were different colors? Here is a 1972 that is red orange original paint that spent its entire life in a garage so the paint isn't faded. Looks different then red to me

Re: show me your 1969 stock red 514 paint

same goes with the red 67s, there red interior and re exterior fade a little and most people say i hvae orange paint on my doors..... i have proof that it is red. In 67 the only interior cloros you could get were blue green fawn and red, no orange

Black sheep454 do you think your dad called the truck cardnal red cause of the color of the ball team? and the proxinity to you and said team? just wondering. That color is close to their team colors is it not? Great looking truck btw.
