Let your truck be like you, an individual extension of yourself.
Personalize it in a way you like and you can't go wrong.

I voted mod; of course, to me, mod would be updating the running gear, a small lowering job, and cutting the dash for a real radio.
Slammed, shaved, bagged, and chopped is something completely different altogether (and also very cool, hehe)

Howdy from W VA, I think after you drive it awhile you start to want to rod it a little. Get a budget, swap meet, and buy smart and you will turn it to a sharp ride. Enjoy and have fun!!!!!!!

Since you asked ORIGINAL. I don't mind new wheels, engine/tranny swaps, comfort and convenience upgrades but my taste definately does not lend to extreme modifications. I agree with Gee Em, not enough box stock looking ones being brought back.
But its YOUR truck. Welcome.

I was beginning to wonder if 70 steps were anything but ugly green.
personnally I am not a total purist...always like my touch....but to me nothihng radical. What ever you feel comfortable with...But your's look a lot better than what mine started as. My $.02....keep the side spare. I think that is one of the neatest character traits of our shgort steps. Love them An wlecome to the board from South Mississippi.

Until you modify it, that is the General's truck. Make it your own. Look at lots and lots of trucks first to get good ideas. Take your camera to every show and swap meet in your area. Read every Classic Truck and Early Classic Truck you can get your hands on. I kept my spare tire rack and fender, most will tell you to get rid of it. Decide how you are going to use it. Cruiser or worker? We love to give our opinions, but you get to decide. Have fun!!
Welcome from Bremerton, Washington!

If it ain't been said yet....GET A HONDA....
LOL.... Naw...if it ain't been said, many guys on this site might NEVER tell you to do it one way or the other.....it is your choice...it looks to be a keeper though. Those 6 cylinder are good motors too... have fun...I've come along way on my truck, it didn't even have an engine or tranny when I started, but you will learn as I did that you will apreciate it a lot as it becomes something more than just your name on the title.

If it's real close to original now, stay original. There's not too many of them out there that are just like the day they rolled off the showroom floor. If you've got tinkering in your blood, go out and find another one that needs help and modify to your liking. Just my $.02.
Welcome to the Board from sunny (almost) California!
