my new ride, WITH PICS!!!
here's the 86 C10 i picked up a few weeks ago. i bought it from the original owner, with 114,000 mi on it. air, tilt, and cruise. unfotrunately, its got a 305,700R4, and 2.73 gears. this one will never be a "1FaastC10", but it will get driven like crazy. maybe when the 305 gives up the goose i'll go with a nice mild 383 and some 3.73 gears, to give me a little towing power, as it probably has none now. i had to put a new trans in it, as the stock one didnt have 3rd or 4th gear, and i decided while i was at it, i would go ahead and put a set of headers on it, and dual exhaust. the cap has since been ditched, as will be the wheels. i'm going to run the set of chrome mods i have laying around, for a while, and then i'll get a set of 15 x 8 mods to replace them

the rust in the rocker panels is just surface rust, so hopefully i can save them. it does need a little attention to the cab corners and the rear quarters |

$500.00 i was having some problems with my '93 a few weeks back, and jokingly told the shop owner that i was thinking of selling it and buying what i really wanted (an 81-87 Chevy) and he told me he had one out back for sale. i thought about it over the weekend, and got there just in time on Monday morning. they were warming it up and putting the dealer plate on it to take it to the auction. MSL, sorry, they're already spoken for. i need something to roll my C10 around the garage on. thanks for the comliments guys!

Looks good. I'd like to have something like that to get back and forth to work in so I could finally start to work on my other one.

I'm like Scott. I wish I could find one like that to drive while working on mine. Good find.

i do too Mark, unfortunately there are too many of them around. im going to do something a little different. i do however like the blue colors. maybe i'll go with an updated monochrome scheme, or something a lil widler. my dad paints Class A motorhomes all day, so he's really good with large graphics. a guy he works with flames anything that paint will stick to. so who knows what i'll end up with.

1Fast,
Nice truck! I don't think I've ever noticed that the '86's had a body-colored stripe in the middle of the grill. That stock? Personally I think that that generation of truck has great looks, and is a good compromise between the old utilitarian trucks and the modern computerized nightmares of today. Too bad there are just too damned many of them around to be collectable! Some day I'll take some pics of my 75. I have so much fun driving that around and blowing away the little riceburners who think they'll zip out ahead |

Not being collectable is good to! Many parts and (compare to new truck parts) cheaper than others.
