Power Steering Lines?

Looking to build my own lines from stock (1972 steering box) to my March serpentine kit, w/ remote reservoir.

I know the fittings are 6 AN, do I just buy the hose and four fittings (with appropriate angles) and put it together? Is it really that simple?

Wild chance anyone has done this and has the parts list, mainly the fittings handy?

Re: Power Steering Lines?

I would consult with a hydraulics supply house in your area and have the hoses made. I'm pretty sure off-the-shelf compression style AN fittings will not work with the pressures produced in a PS pump. I can't imagine it costing more than 40 or 50 bucks for the pair.

Re: Power Steering Lines?

After installing power steering in my daily driver and struggling with after market hoses I am going to make my own next time. The issue is the steering box is right under the inner fender. I am going to cut a hole and bring the hoses straight up through the inner fender and buy Aeroquip fittings and power steering hose for the high pressure line and use their socketless hose for the return line.

This is what I did with mine.

I ended up buying the "March" lines aka Gotta show lines. Decided making my own wasn't worth the potential upside if I messed them up. I'm happy with the decision.

I am currently in the process of doing this conversion myself. I was going to use the March billet remote res and the lines that they have as a kit.

Any chance you could post up pics of how you set your March P/S set up?

Thanks!
