tire differences?
What would the difference between mounting P225/75R15 and P225/70R15 tires on lets say a 15x8 rim? Would the difference be in the sidewall height? Would the difference be on the tire width? Thanks in advance.

Sidewall height. P225/75R15 is 75% of the 225 tall, so the sidewall is 168.75 mm tall. The 225/70 is 70% of the width so the sidewall is 157.5 mm tall.

Would I be right in saying the difference in overall height would be 28-1/2" for the 75 and 27-1/2" for the 70 ?

I am getting roughly 28.25" and 27.4" so I think you are pretty close.

Not a whole lot and if you have to do this---like me, then i would suggest doing it on the front axle, not the rear, ASSuming you have 2WD.
Because if you put this "odd couple" on the rear then the diff's spider gears are working all the time. Putting unnessesary strain and wear on them. |
