5.3 or ls swap

I know there are tons of people doing this now so it should be pretty easy by now. And I would like to perform this on my 69.
Can anyone list parts needed (and where to get them) and steps for the swap?
Or point me in the direction of a thread that already covers this in detail?
Thanks

Re: 5.3 or ls swap

Look in the engine drivetrain section. There's an LSX swap sticky at the top.
All kinds of info.

yea my title is worded in such a way that the two are interchangeable... Ls OR 5.3 meaning either or
And technically they really aren't the same thing but for the purpose of this thread it doesnt matter..
I would like to know what is needed to swap out for an Ls1 OR a 5.3, or 6.0 or whatever the like
thanks for your input

Re: 5.3 or ls swap

Technically LS motors have aluminum blocks, but dimensionally both are the same.

Re: 5.3 or ls swap

well either way this isn't supposed to be a pissin match on what it really is or isn't, that was not the original posters question ... he basically said either 5.3 OR or an LS whatever into his truck instead of the run of the mill 350/454
