Removing Bed
What all involved in removing the bed(stepshortWood)? How heavy is it? thanks

If you take the wood out and the tailgate off it is pretty light and two guys can lift it. If the wood is still in there and wet...better have four. There are only about four bolts holding it on and the fuel filler gauge. Remove all the wire connectors (plugs) too. It is pretty simple but the bolts will be rusty as heck and may require a hot wrench. Good luck!

I don't think a step has a fuel filler gauge.

An engine hoist makes real easy work of it, just run a couple chains across the bed and hoist her up.

depends on how many peices you cut it into!! i lifted my whole bed off by myself!! see i already lifted the back off!

i have done this feat a time or two
I ground off the 6 bolts, and whallah! Last wood bed i took apart has all the metal slats in great shape. I am going to chrome them and see how they look. take care all
