Re: where to get carpet????

I'm very pleased with the carpet I got from Stock Interiors:

http://www.stockinteriors.com/

I added the Mass Backing which is a rubber backing to reduce heat and noise.
I went with the 80/20 loop which looks like the original nylon but does not fray so bad.

It fit perfect.

Here's what I paid, but it looks like it's on sale right now a bit cheaper.

Description: Chevy Full Size Truck, Standard Cab '67-'72 Molded Carpet 2 WD Automatic
Color: 501-Black 80/20 Loop
375 - 124.95
Backing: MassBack - 55.00
Price (each): 179.95
Item Total: 179.95

Got mine from stockinteriors.com also.
I don't think you can get a better product for the money.

No matter who you buy it from, it made by one of 2 manufacturers, most commonly ACC.

Re: where to get carpet????

Buy from either one of the venders, GMC Pauls is a good one and has been getting alot of my business as of late. However I bought the gold carpet for my 68 from stock interiors and would not hesitate to buy from them again. $130 ish to the door and fast shipping plus alot of hard to find colors (68 gold being one of them). Hope this helps.

Re: where to get carpet????

you all made me go ahead an order carpet from stockinterior too for my 69. For the life of me, I can't remember where I got the carpet for my 68. I got the mass back on it too. Hopefully between that and the left over sound deadner from my 68, the 69 will be quiet too.

Re: where to get carpet????

I buy from my favorite 67-72 GM Truck part vendor. They sell everything, not just interior, and it's all good from the same mfgrs. The money you save from an interior-only place doesn't go far against what you will save from building a relationship with someone who has about anything you'll need.

Re: where to get carpet????

For the places that need cutting -- seat bolts, dimmer switch, etc, I used a razor knife to get it started, and then a pencil type sautering iron to open it up.

Re: where to get carpet????

I got mine from Classic Industries. I'm happy with it, it's been in there for about 2 years and held up really well.

I am disappointed with them though, I called and spoke with a rep there about finding a certain color seat cover, and he never called me back. I've been patiently waiting for about 3 weeks. He must have forgotten about me!

Re: where to get carpet????

yall that ordered with the mass backing was it worth the money? what if any difference did it make.

Also you can order extra carpet by the yard from stockinteriors they claim if ordered together it will come from the same roll as the molded carpet is made from.
