a/c heater help!

Sorry to ask this but i dont understand how to do what im wanting to do here. I have a 72 swb that i am re doing and kind of making a hot rod out of, it has factory ac and heat but i would like to know how to or if its possible to get rid of the huge ac box on the fire wall to make it look cleaner. All i would like to use is the heater for winter time but i would like to get rid of the big black box on the fire wall. Is this possible or am i going to have to keep the big box up there. Any info would be great

Re: a/c heater help!

The a/c box on the outside houses the blower for the heater,so it would be impossible to get rid of it totally.u could put a aftermarket system behind the dash so u can smooth out the firewall

Could i use the box off of a non ac cab truck that just had heat, and keep the blower on the fire wall or would that not work ?

The firewalls are different on A/C and non-A/C trucks. Just get a heater delete plate for the firewall or smooth it and put an aftermarket heater/A/C unit in it if you don't want anything on the outside firewall...

Re: a/c heater help!

The ac and non ac cabs are different because of the holes through the firewall behind and the small hole above fiberglass box. But wont the heat only box cover the existing holes?
