Anyone ever shorten control arms?
I have a 75 front end on my 72 and the front end is significantly wider than the rear. It looks ridiculous to me that the back wheels are closer together and tuck just fine and yet the front is wider and do not want to tuck. By my measurements the front end is about 3 inches wider than the back. Was thinking about cutting my top control arm where my black marks are and then just moving the ball joint in the bottom arm to where the black circle is. Sorry I am terrible with paint programs. If this all works then I will build tubular control arms in the future. Hopefully I can reduce the width by 1.5 inches per side. Is this a bad idea? Very open to suggestions. And I will put my 20s up there and make sure that there would be no interference. Also would need either shorter tie rods or a center link then. Can you get these?

Re: Anyone ever shorten control arms?
I know that that is another option but I like the idea of having big 305s in the front. Plus to get my 20x10s rehooped with 8.5 inch hoops is going to cost 280 dollars per wheel plus shipping 2 ways. I will do it though if I cant make this work

Re: Anyone ever shorten control arms?
I think some of the aftermarket companies are making short spindles for our trucks. Not sure it's 3" but they are narrower. I'm not too sure how cutting the control arms would work? I'm interested to see if anyone has. I hate the front track to be noticeably wider myself.

Re: Anyone ever shorten control arms?
CPP's new drop spindles don't push the wheels out as much as other drop spindles. I used them on my truck and I'm pretty sure they didn't widen the track over stock spindles. They also have the modular spindles that bring in each side 3/4"( i think)
