Cleaning out lower cowl - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

What is the best way to vacume out the area in the lower cowl behind the kick panel area? I was going to put a hose down through the vent but there is a piece that blocks off the bottom.

After getting most of out with my hand, I just used compressed air. Most of that crap will fall out from the bottom around the rear of the fender. Then I went underneath and blew out the rest left behind.

I cut the bottom out of that vent. I put a 12" bi-metal blade on a sawzall and went in through the opening between the hinges on the door and the fender and started near the kick panel and cut up and out until I ran out of metal. Now, it is wide open for leaves, pinestraw, water or whatever to fall straight on through. Just be sure to check and make sure that is not part of the factory air system, I am not too sure about that part of it. Works well for me.
