67-72 stepside beds questions - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I thought i had read a thread about this but now can't find it.

What i would like to know is, Are their other stepside beds as in pre 67
that are the same as the 67-72? other than the fenders and fender mounting holes?

Appreciate any help.

If I remember right there was a post about this a long while back. It seems like it was 55 and up would fit. Some newer beds were the same, but I don't remember the cut-off year.

I don't have my reference stuff with me to verify though.

Like you said the fenders and holes for the fenders would be different.

Hopefully some one will chime in with more firm info.

Using the SWAG method of deduction. The box, minus the fenders and steps, looks the same to me from early 60s (maybe even late 50s) to 1987. I have not put a measuring tape to to it.

I've got a couple and looked at a bunch more, the boxes could be similar..even different makes, but its my opinion to stick with what you know works. You could even fab a box but it would always look odd.
Have you found something you are thinking about using? If so, maybe we could help.

Not found one yet, Was just checking as i had heard some early ones are the same as a 68-72.
