srw to drw spindle & brake ?

Ok guys time for some info.
I started to swap my srw 1 ton or so i thought over to drw today.
The question i have is did all of the drw spindles use the calipers that use one bolt and the slide on the bottom?
Mine has the two bolts like half tons do.

So is my truck not a 1 ton?

When i put the rotor on it fits but you can't put the calipers on with the pads.

Time for a spindle swap?

Thanks
Paul

The single wheel trucks have calipers like a 1/2 ton, with a larger bore piston. The dual wheel uses the large caliper with the retaining pin, as do all 1 ton 4×4's.

So should they work with the drw rotors or do i need to change spindles?

If the caliper doesn't fit over the rotor with the pads in place you will have to replace the spindle for a dually spindle.

the dually spindle and the srw spindle are the same right down to the part number thats in the casting with out looking at a picture it almost sounds like you have a 3/4t spindle and the only diferance in the 3/4 and 1t spindls is the way the caliper mounts

I'll get a picture later. When the rotor is on it almost touches the caliper mount, so it is probably a 3/4 ton.

Re: srw to drw spindle & brake ?

So i decided to check the vin on my truck. It's turns out to be a 3/4 ton.
The vin tag says it's a camper special 8200 gvw.

So now i get to change the spindels also.

Will the 14 bolt rear pose any problems for the drw swap, besides needing spacers?

I have some stock 1-ton spindles.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
