A hint at what year model? Some years they list the accent colors, wheel colors and trim colors in the color books.

Only "Accent" color they list is Lt Slate Poly, Code 17, WA7468, PPG# 3453

Honestly, every grille I can recall refurbing I used the same rattle can silver that I used on GM rally wheels and it looked fine. But hopefully that helps you some.

thanks randy! I guess thats it seems to be the only obvious choice out of the silvers since it says accent color. Pretty cool site! I may just used the rally wheel paint if this is hard at all to come by.

Did you have to buy the color chip book to be able to look at it and blow it up big like that? without clicking on your link I couldn't navigate to be able to look inside the 87 code book.

It's free. We have color books, but only back to about 2000 or so. Lost all the books I had when my dad sold his body shop back in 2001. I think we had all the way back to like 71 or 72 then.

Re: head light bezel and grill paint color?

I used Duplicolor FM-149, which is what I have always used on my rally wheels.

I thought it turned out fine and has held up well.

The grille itself was used, purchased from ScottH (thanks again, Scott). I sprayed it with Duplicolor Argent silver (FM149), along with the headlight bezels. I reused his parking lamps and stainless, with the exception of the center bars (new) and I also replaced the stainless around the grill opening.

I repainted my original bowtie while I was at it, retouching the black border around the chrome and then the "gold/yellow" in the center

This shows the center bars, painted body colored (Duplicolor red WA 7475, code 72).

Re: head light bezel and grill paint color?

Buy you a single 3m 7448 (fine) scotchbrite pad. Dip the scotchbrite in soapy water and sand/clean the pieces you want to paint. It is a very fine pad and will not create scratches so bad the rattle can spray paint won't cover it up. But it'll sand it good enough to remove any bug stains and the roughness you're feeling.
