Wiper conversion for my 63
I currently have the single speed wiper in my truck. I would like to go to the 2 speed wiper. What parts will I need to do the conversion. I know the motor will have to be swapped, but is the wiring the same? Also...I want to install the wiper switch w/the washer button as my truck had a washer system at some point, but doesn't know. The lines are still ran, bottle and mount in place, but the washer system is gone (pump). Do I need to do any modification to the wiring to do this?

Re: Wiper conversion for my 63
find a 66 with the switch, wiring, motor, etc.......then it will just be plug and play. My 66 gmc has 2 speed wipers with park. Have fun hooking the arms back up, it is easy to get them timed wrong.....

Re: Wiper conversion for my 63
Okay, thanks. Yeah, Ive heard that above the transmission arms for the wipers. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace the gasket to. Im sure its never been taken off.

Re: Wiper conversion for my 63
One other option is to wire in one of these units:
Got one for my '64 with single speed wipers, and it works great. Mounted it under the dash so its not noticeable when sitting in the truck, but easy to reach without searching for it. Got this one off ebay for $20...its as old as the truck I think. |

Re: Wiper conversion for my 63
I have a 62 and 63 both have new motors and delay switches from New Port Engineering, however if I remember correctly you don’t need to replace the motor their delay switch should also work with the stock motor. With their shaft extension it uses the stock knob and gives you intermittent, low, high, and washer pump.
