dang nice 72 on ebay

not mine. LOVE the color (anyone know the name of it? - looks like sierra gold from a 57 chevy! - but don't know the proper 72 color name).

It's just a custom deluxe (which IS just fine with me) and a bit pricey - but considering the beautiful workmanship, I'd say that's in the ball park.

Anyway, just wanted to share the pics - it's on ebay, very nice truck.
enjoy

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

I hear ya, when I first bought my 72 blazer I was set on repainting it a different color. Once I polished it up (p.o. was kinda lazy) I fell in love with the color. Now when I do a rebuild it won't be any color but Med Bronze

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

Goes by lots of names. Brochure calls it Classic Bronze (m), SPID callout is 522 Med. Bronze, Ditzer lists it as 2202 Copper Poly with useage going back to '70. Looked at a K20 CST for sale in this color and it instantly grew on me too.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

I'm curious about the air cleaner. Is that generally the original type that came with these trucks? The reason I ask is because the one on my truck looked exactly like that, and I took it off in favor of the one shown below. I might be splitting hairs, but I guess I'm not sure which one is original equipment.

My OEM air cleaner has a fairly flat top top like yours, but also has the 'can' on the snorkel like the ebay truck. His truck is missing the heat shielding around the exhaust manifolds and the 'stovepipe' that goes from there to the bottom of the snorkel.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

I've been high bidder on that truck three times. Very well done but very weak on equipment/options. I agree the air cleaner can looks wrong (reminds me of a 307 air cleaner I've seen before). I would pay $13k for it.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

This is a very well done excellent condition truck and I agree with Dantip, 21k is a plie of money for a long box with no options seeing you can find as equally nice short box loaded Cheyenne Supers for 15/17,000. IMHO I think its worth 10k. I wonder what it would bring at Barrett-Jackson at prime time on the Saturday afternoon auction?

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

I'd agree a bit pricey - you would be paying for the quality of the restoration, that's for sure, not necessarily options. But I'm with you, as nice as it truly is, I'd be hunting for a cheyenne super that is loaded for that price.

And there is a very nice one on ebay too! But of course it's $26K...

Wonder why he did put defrost hose back on it? For that kind of money it should be completed don't you think?

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

The radio opening must have been cut out for a CD player or else they just plugged the hole.
Nice truck

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

Wondered about the color as my 71 is white and cooper but didn't know if it was called copper. Nice truck but missing torque convertor cover for some reason, also noticed the radio delete, maybe 10-12, 000 not what they want.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

This is a pristine, gorgeous truck and I have to wonder why they balanced the tires on the outside of the wheel...those weights really detract from the stock wheels/caps.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

^^ True, but that's how they'd leave a typical tire shop back in the day, especially on an ordinary, everyday vehicle.... like a stock Chevy pickup.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

I too wondered about that defrost hose - it's a heater delete truck - so would there be no hose if there's no heater?

It is a radio delete truck, not a plugged opening - that is kinda rare. Not $20K rare, and a LACK of an option - but rare nonetheless...

I sure don't wanna pick it apart - it's a nice truck, even if I think it's a bit over-priced (m 2 cents - or, in ebay value, my $200K).

I know, and that is why I have always asked shops to balance my tires on the inside of the wheel on every vehicle I have ever owned. Never had a problem. Obviously this restoration was recent and it is a very simple thing to do.

Re: dang nice 72 on ebay

There were actually radio delete trucks where the opening wasn't even cutout? I thought that is what the plates were for. It has a heater.
