Engine Problems
Hey guys, so about a week ago I was driving on my way home and I was cruising at about 30 MPH when my truck began to make a *hissss* sound followed by a *POP* so I decided to floor it up to 50 and it seemed to go away, so I cruise back down to 30 and Lesotho it there and it returns. 3 days later I take it out and it runs fine. I tried taking it out Saturday night, back half way out of the driveway and got the *hiss, POP* TWICE and the truck died. I let it coast down the hill, then gassed it a little and the *hiss POP* was STILL there. WHAT'S GOING ON? My Plug wires are fine, they have less than 100 miles on em, they're all on snug. The only things I've done is changed the air filter, and radiator hoses. I'm guessing its the Spark Plugs. It idles fine, there is some faint popping out the exhuast at idle, but its rough when the tryck is in gear and under a load. Please help a brother out.

Re: Engine Problems
I'd be inclined to remove the valve covers and inspect the valve springs. Possibly do a compression test, leak down but do the the tests before you drop a valve. Good luck, Ron.

Re: Engine Problems
Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can do that sometime soon.
