steering wheel questions

What wheels will fit my 62?
I purchased a 1965 impala steering wheel ebay thinking it would go right on but it didnt. I also see all kinds of older belair steering wheels that i lie but know if they will go right on. A little help would be great guys!

Do you have an aftermarket steering column? Most of the steering wheels of that era had the same spline spec.

Its not aftermarket, the spline is the same but length of that splined metal part is too long and wont let it go down far enough. I sticks up to high and if I force it, then it pushes on the turn signal and they wont work.

Is that with the cancel cam?
Cuz if it is I think you can shave it.

I too have a 1966 impala steering wheel to be put on my 66 stepper. I haven't removed my current wheel to see if it will work yet.

steve'62 did you get yours to work? btw I have the factory column with the 3 speed column shift

you will have to shave the turn signal housing a little more than 1/8 of an inch and just keep checking, i found out the hard way when it started grinding the back of my wheel after i painted it. i was pissed!!
