dash problems

i have a 72 c10 that was originally a 6 cylinder 3 speed basic plain jane truck with idiot lights i have changed over to a 350 350 combo.now my prob i have put a original gauge panel in the truck with a factory tach that is stand alone so noprob there, i have eliminated the other gauges ie vac oil water and am running my own in the factory holes. my prob is i have no fuel gauge or dash lights , it acts like there is no power getting to the cluster do i need a new undre dash harness or are they the same and i have another prob? hope i made myself clear thanks one and all GOD bless!!!!!

I believe that you will need to switch some wires on the harness plug when you switch from an idiot light panel to a gauge panel. Scroll down this page on this link to GMC Paul's site for a wiring diagram:

You may have burned out your fuel gauge by hooking it up with the wrong wiring configuration. Switching instrument clusters is not plug and play....
