69 C-10 voltage regulator?

my son and I recently did a motor swap in his 69.
We installed a small block for a 75 truck. We bought a new alternator, and new HEI dist.
When using a more modern alternator, one that has an internal regulator, shouldn't I be eliminating the external regulator?
If so, how do I make the proper wiring connections?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Re: 69 C-10 voltage regulator?

Or you can do it the easy way.
7555 ALTERNATOR CONVERSION KIT, EXTERNAL TO INTERNAL REGULATOR CONVERSION HARNESS ("SI" SERIES) $19.00 Pic
NOTE: for use with 1972-84 non-serpentine belt ("SI" series) internal regulated alternators
37787 ALTERNATOR CONVERSION KIT, EXTERNAL TO INTERNAL REGULATOR CONVERSION HARNESS ("CS" SERIES) $19.00 Pic
NOTE: for use with serpentine belt ("CS" series) internal regulated alternators

(link here)

The best way is to go with their complete harness, to include headlight relays, electric choke, internal regulated alt. This will eliminate any future headaches. It's not like the Painless system, it's literally plug & play as it uses the same color codes and connectors.
