Fire wall or frame mounted

I know that when it comes to the location of mounting the brake booster master cylinder its all personal preference. I am putting a Nailhead in my truck and am stuck on where I should put the MC.

Have you seen the pictures of the under the dash mounted MC? I think I am leaning this way.

I mounted mine on the frame. Its where the original one was mounted and just cleans up the engine bay so much nicer. I am sure it will be a little harder to work on but I like the "clean" look of an engine bay w/o the booster sitting there.... just my 1.5$

that should be a sweet engine swap with the nail head...

I have to agree mounting the booster on the frame cleans the fire wall up great. These two are from TCI and bolt right up and go thru the stock hole in floor.... very nice..

Underfloor if you can. I had mine there but the pedal hit the clutch fork so I had to move it to the firewall. If you want the underfloor bracket let me know, I'll sell my un-used but no booster.

I paid a guy to install the underfloor one, uses Mustang parts, it never worked right, found out it was installed wrong. It always leaks, not sure why, I blame the F... parts.

On the frame. I've hand mine on the firewall and it added way too much clutter and ugliness. I can see if if you did a frame swap but with an original frame I'd keep it under the floor.

Aesthetically, I'd go frame mounted. But apparently with the different pedal designs, the firewall setup gives you more pounds of force per square inch when you push down on the pedal. Which means it is supposedly safer and gives you better stopping power.

i put mine on the frame but i extended the brake rod so the booster an master r under the seat area, an i have all the room in the world if i need to work on it

Booger...got any pics and info of that setup. Everyone else, got any pics of how you run your dual exhaust around that setup?

Yeah I've seen that suburban and that thing is sweet.

I also plan to going on the frame with a hydroboost unit.

What did you guys do that have fully boxed frame? Does the mc interfere withe the trans mount?

Throw it under the dash of your truck there is plenty of room and it will give you more room for your tranny mount.Just a idea!!!!!!!!!!

The one i posted here of the bare frame can be welded to a boxed frame.. you would just take off the bracket that bolts to the inside of the frame...

ill have to find the pics for ya. but the break assembly is pretty strait foward, i pickd a spot on my frame that would have the ms out the way an easy for me an made my own brakets to mount the ms, i used a brake rod off a ford 3000 tractor an installed it in a steal pipe that was a tad bigger than the rod an ran the pipe as long as i could so the rod would not bend in a panic stop an have been drivin the truck for 3 years an it works great

check out www.abspowerbrake.com look on page 116 and you'll see a few of the brakes with the booster and m/c mounted back under the seat..
