WTB..Looking for a low mile 5.7 2x4 Suburban!! 3/4 ton prefered.
Ideally I would like a clean, lower mile, 90's, 5.7, 3/4 ton, 2x4 with a 373 rear and cloth. I would be willing to take a 1/2 ton but I really dont want to deal with Georgia emissions so it would have to be a good deal and NICE. Either body style of the 90's is fine. Im not a huge fan of the Vortec but I realize I will probably have to deal with it.
I dont want GM JUNK leather seats. MUST be cloth! I really dont want a 5.3 or 6.0. I dont want northern rust. I dont mind 4x4 but I prefer 2x4. $6000 or below should get me what I want. I am watching ebay, trader and Craigs in my area and a few others but if any of you watch them in yours I dont mind traveling and will pay a finders fee. Thanks

Re: WTB..Looking for a low mile 5.7 2x4 Suburban!! 3/4 ton prefered.
what are you planning to do with the truck?
my dad has a 99 burb c1500 with 5.7 and 3.42 rear. capable of 22mpg and it has good power. his is a base model (vinyl seats and ugly nose) but has a/c, 9 passenger seating w/ solid front bench (my preference), barn doors, etc. i installed a correct year nos GM trailer hitch and tow hooks (optional on 2wd) with matching front air dam on it for him. the only other major plan is to beef up the rear springs from the 5 leaf to the 6 leaf setup from a 3/4 ton....not that it sags too bad with our 71 holiday camper with an 800 pound tongue weight. you should be able to find a nice late 90's LS trim (cloth seats) truck with the same drive train setup and upgrade as needed. my dad's truck may only have a 5500 pound tow rating but feels far more powerful than his old 84 burb c10 w/ 3.73 gears and 7,000 pound rating. 3/4 tons are nice (i drive a 72 Burb C20) but modern 1/2 tons weigh less than 3/4 ton models and 5 lug wheels make things easier too. as i said, it's all about what you plan to do. and why does Georgia enforce emissions on 1/2 tons and not 3/4 tons? thankfully Maine did away with that crap years ago my 40 year old truck is pretty much exempt anyway! |

It will be my family hauler/tow rig. I just sold my diesel Excursion and need to replace it. I have traditionally always had Suburbans. HAving owned 10 of these I have a pretty good grasp of what I need and want and I am asking for help in locating one. Its hard to search through all the for sale areas at one time.
Georgia has the most wacked emissions testing....its not the entire state but the counties near Atlanta and you dont have to have anything over 8500 GVW tested. All or none I say!

Would you mind shipping from all the way up here in Washington State? Theirs a couple 3/4ton rust free, really nice ones I saw for sale here locally and with low miles. Good thing about up here no rust!
I could go look at them for you if you like? |

Re: WTB..Looking for a low mile 5.7 2x4 Suburban!! 3/4 ton prefered.
Here's the one I was talking about. 3/4ton, 2x4, 95,000miles and its a 1994. Not to far from me.
No affiliation with it at all. http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/2758101765.html So from looking craigslist, theirs quite a few up here. I found them because i've been wanting to hunt for a '67-'72 burban and saw the ones you wanted. |

Shipping or fly in and drive home....work is slow right now so an across country trip would be great! I would buy some rust free cabs and bring them back with me.

From looking at craigslist again, would you consider a 4x4? Up here in the Pacific NW they love their 4x4's and theirs quite a few 4x4 3/4ton burbs for sale. And they have 350s

Trying to stay 120K or lower on miles. My last burb was just like this one. 4x4 as a last resort.
