Thumbs down Brothers Truck Parts

I ordered some parts for my wood bed conversion on my Cheyenne Super. They had a deal going on for 15% off your Total if you spend over $299. Well buying the wood bed kit, two heat guards, and the set of rubber pads put me at $475. I put in this order Sunday night so it could get here for a Xmas kit. Well yesterday (Thursday) I get an email saying they got my order, 4 days later they get my order it took that long! Well I start to read the email and see that it says that the total is $575. A whole $100 more. It was too late to call the store; it was pass 6pm so I called Friday morning. Speaking to this man, saying that they did not want to give the deal of 15% because that the wood bet kits are already cheap enough. On their web site it showed the price of $379, when I added it to my basket it brought down the total to $322. So back to where the guy was saying that it’s cheap enough, I just stopped him and said "you were trying to sneak another $100 on my Bill?" He never answered back. I just kept cool and said please cancel my order; I’ll take my money to another store. I could not believe this. If I would not have seen that email they would have charged my card $575. To be honest I would have paid that difference if the man would have said it the right way but sneak another $100 like that really pissed me off. Sorry just wanted to get this off my chest, Rant over. Oh and now No Xmas gift!

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I've had Brothers do some sneaky stuff on my orders in the past. I review the papers very carefully. I still buy most of my stuff from them as the quality of the parts they sell is way above the Truck Shop or LMC.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I have only had one transaction with Brothers, took a long time to receive the order so I went back to Classic Parts, never have had issue with them.

Unhappy Re: Brothers Truck Parts

good morning forum, this is my first post and I hate it has to be on the negative side. this is my fist c-10 although i have done streetrods for many years. I was shopping for a vendor with good service and parts Brothers kept showing up in the different builds so i decided to try them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then I found this thread after i found out my parts wee not in stock and would be several weeks before they would be still no definate date. I then told brothers to cancel the order he said no problem and my pay pal would be refunded, and i would receive an email about it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, nothing pay pal has now charged my bank account, for parts that i was not to pay for until they shipped just like the do at summit. I am not here to trash the vendor just to tell my story to other members so they don't get caught up in this mess.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I ordered some radiator bushing from Brothers, along with some other stuff. The order arrived without the bushings, they were back ordered. I contacted them after a month or so. Ask them to either refund my money or give me a instore credit. They tell me, they don't charge your credit card until they ship the item. I knew better than that, that's why I waited a month before contacting them for a refund or a credit. I had the proof. I wrote it off $25 wasn't to bad for a lesson learned. I bought the bushing from LMC. Now for the kicker, I get a package a week or so ago. I'm wondering what it could be? I wasn't expecting anything. I opened the package. Low and behold it was the bushing kit I ordered from Brothers. (8) eight months ago. I'm dead serious. I couldn't believe it. Eight months back order. They could have ordered them from LMC and got them to me in 2 weeks. I don't Bother with Brother's

Cool Re: Brothers Truck Parts

my problem was resolved rather quickly after I spoke with john at brothers, I paid with paypal they guarantee the money and take it out of your account with in 30 seconds, no mater if your stuff is on back order. the kicker here is it takes pay pal 2-3 days to get it (the money) back into your account they say it takes the credit card company's longer to replace it, if it can come out in 30 seconds it could go back in 30 seconds, refunds are not a priority . I will be less likely to use pay pal now unless I know the seller has parts in stock.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

I would like to thank John from Brothers Truck Parts. He most defiantly went out of his way to satisfy me. He made phone calls to me, We talked about my problem and he assured me that I could count on Brothers Truck Parts for any furure purchases. I need a rag joint for my 69 project. So he can get ready for a order from me. John seemed very knowledgable on the chevy trucks were restoring or just needing replacement parts for our everyday driver. Thank you John, I'll be sending you a PM, I have a question on the rag joint before I place the order. And it will be paid with a credit card or money order or check. Don't blame Brothers Truck Parts for something Pay Pal does. Pay Pal will take your payment first before Brothers ever gets your order. So if your part is on back order. Brothers isn't holding your payment. Pay Pal is. Pay with a credit card, if your order is on back order, you won't be charged until your order is shipped. Thank you for all your help, Jesse Webb

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

This is my first time posting on the forum but Ive been waiting for three months on on a dash pad from Brothers, called a week ago, the associate told me he would call me right back. Over a week later I call back to see what the hold up is and another guy tells me that the product i orderd was discontinued last month. Thanks for the info guys ive just been waiting on the part for 3 months. Needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere. Poor customer service and offering me a free tshirt doesnt make up for the time that was wasted.

I have factory parchment interior, Brothers was the only place I could find a white dash pad. The one I have is the orginal and its starting to fall apart, as you can see from the attachment I painted it white but its not of the quility Im wanting. On another note, John handled my problem swiftly and in the right manner. Thank you for your customer service.

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Seems like problems are only resolved after bad experience is posted to board? I am starting a 72 blazer build and am looking for a good quality/price vendor to supply parts for entire build and im a bit skeptical... Any suggestions on good quality/priced parts vendors for 72 blazer??

Re: Brothers Truck Parts

Brothers ripped me off too. Placed an order about two months ago..for a total of about $250.00. Initially, the communication went well. Paid the balance via Paypal, and was told it would take about a week for the bumper brackets to come in; Was told the same thing about a week later. That was a month-and-a-half ago, and all subsequent attempts at communication have been futile.
I contacted Paypal to request assistance/refund, but they were no help.
So, at this point, I pretty much assume it's a lost cause. After reading reviews about Brother's on this site and others, I see this is not an isolated case. It seems to me that they do this only periodically, to stay under the radar, so to speak. A few incidents here-and-there would pretty much go unnoticed.
Anyway, just wanted to share my experience, and hopefully prevent others from throwing away their money.
Thanx.
