AN Fittings Leak !!
Man, does anyone else have issues when assembling AN fittings. I just assembled my fuel lines and one of the fittings leak. It seems to be leaking at the swivel not the section that gets inserted into the hose (if that makes sense) . Then the small allen set screw )for the fuel pressure gauge leaks) it has pipe sealant and I have it super tight and it still seeps
Why all these problems with these fittings?

Re: AN Fittings Leak !!
Whos fittings. I've seen a couple of leaks when using a mix of Russell / Aeroquip fittings / hose, but I typically stick with all Aeroquip haven't had any leaks anywhere.
Having a 'fitting' leak at the swivel is pretty unusual, as is the NPT leak!

Re: AN Fittings Leak !!
X2 - which fitting type and brand are you using? Like Marv, I rarely see leaks from the swivel on typical application. I use the cutter type of hose ends (XRP), and sometimes if people don't get the hose in straight, it will leak at the hose-fitting union.
However, if you are using these fitting on the fuel system for a diesel, the pressure of the fuel system can easily exceed the PSI rating of a typical AN assembly...even the crimp style. Is this for a lift pump assembly before the CP3?

Re: AN Fittings Leak !!
x3 we use to sell just about every brand of fitting. Aeroquip had to lower their prices some to compete but they are excellent quality. if you stick with the name brands you should not have a problem unless its faulty. if you do alot of hoses i would reccomend getting a Koul Tool.

Re: AN Fittings Leak !!
The fittings I used where no name from EBAY imagine that I tried to save $20 and they leak! I am going to try to use some more tread sealant on the npt one and maybe jsut get another straight fitting if it continues. I am using the black fiber wrapped hose and it is for a gasoline engine.
I will remember to buy name brand ones next time that is for sure. I do have the koul tool but it is at the other house 150 miles away. I do however like the black fiber wrapped hose instead of the stainlesss hose, it seamed to assemble easier.

Re: AN Fittings Leak !!
I bought a no name fuel line for my holley and it was a nightmare to get it sealed up. Kicked myself for not spending the extra 30 for a decent one

And those are the reasons not to cheap out on parts. I've been burned once on cheap parts and its enough, don't you agree?
