Anything special to look for?

I've got a call in on another truck. 1984 dually, 454/tbh400. Other than the usual problem areas on the squares, is there anything special I should be looking for?

I was over my old K-20 with a fine tooth comb, the C series and dual wheel might be a whole nother can of worms.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Check for frame rot, usual stuff. There were also several wheel base options, if the the truck doesn`t have a factory bed on it, chassis cab, flatbed.

Re: Anything special to look for?

From what I see from posted pic, it's a factory pick-up. Rear fenders are rough but not as bad as my K-20. (my sig line is true. PO didn't want hassle of scrapping truck)

Some rust I can deal with, though it can give me a little wiggle room in price.

Re: Anything special to look for?

Thought I'd give an update- Merry Christmas to me, I'm now the owner of an '86 C-30 dually. Little rough but that's what projects are for.

CL add listed it as an '84, but turned out to be an '86. According to the title, PO has only put 1600mi on it in the past 4 years. Add was correct in some things, 454/tbh400.

guess I better change my sig.

Re: Anything special to look for?

I'll get one in due time. when I posted it was dark, and on dial-up loading even 1 pic takes time.

It was nice to finally look at a southern truck, some rust spots on cab corners, but rockers and floor are good. Being a relatively unmolested truck, I think I now have samples of every piece of smog equipment GM ever used. Except the cats. One of the PO's did put a dual exhaust on it. Needs replacing again at some point.
