Seat Brackets/Mounts
Hey ya'll. I have a 69 c10 I'm building into a drag truck. One of the local shops in my area said if I can get my truck to the track and make it down the strip legally this time by the first race of the season then he will sponsor me. Whether he is actually going to or not doesn't really matter to me. It's got me pretty motivated to get it going legally. Anyways, I'm trying to fab up some seat mounts for my bucket seat I have and was wondering if anyone has anything out there they can help me with. Would also like to know what the height is of your mounts. Thanks for your time.

Re: Seat Brackets/Mounts
If you're able to make the mounts, I wouldn't worry about what everyone else is doing/has done...I'd put the seat in and use blocks to get it where it feels perfect with you in it and build your mounts off that measurement. Just my $0.02. Just make sure there aren't any rules at your track you're not following...

Re: Seat Brackets/Mounts
The reproduce the passenger side bracket and they are $75 or less. They are fixed and are bent into a c-channel that fits the floor and angled for the seat. I don't see why those wouldn't mount directly on the driver side.

Re: Seat Brackets/Mounts
tubbedII - I have checked with the local track and they said I don't need anything fancy regarding safety until I hit the high 11's. I'm just trying to get different ideas of how to go about the style of them. I don't want to just make anything standard to bolt the seat down. I'm going towards something that looks neat.
special-k - Are you talking about a bracket that someone can order? If so do you know where I could get one. I'm open to all options right now. |

Yes,the passenger bucket seat mount for 69-72. I know they are reproduced now and sold by vendors.

Re: Seat Brackets/Mounts
I have a slightly unfair advantage I guess since I run a laser in a metal shop but I took some aluminum I beam and cut them to fit the height I wanted and just drilled holes for the stock bracket location if that helps any. Sorry I don't have any pics of it but it's an idea for ya anyways.
