Stock or Not?
I have been trying to figure this out.
Would it be better to order a chassis and get it made to suit me or do it the regular way of adding this aftermarket part to lower the front end that aftermarket rear suspension to hook and lower it that way. I figure if your doing a full restoration anyway with all new wiring harnesses why not just order the chassis lowered X amount front to rear and complete with cage? I know it costs more up front but in the long run wouldn't you end up spending more the regular way? The truck will be a 73-74 1/2 ton longbed stepside just to do something different. It will be a purpose built truck for Hot Rods Drag thing. |

Re: Stock or Not?
I think it comes down to cost for gain. I can understand a full chassis purchase more for road course racing, but for drag racing, I think you could easily get away with less in the chassis and more in the drive train without sacrafice in ETs. Unless you do a full tube chassis maybe...
