frankenstien
heres some pics of my 67 GMC 1 ton project I plan on pulling the 305E and the sm465 and swapping in one of my big blocks with a 4L80E getting rid of the flat bed and finding a std long bed and making it my DD and work truck
the PO swapped out the rear end and even though its a dually the rear tires are only an inch and a half wider than the fronts

Re: frankenstien
I've been on the board for awhile and posted a few times but this is the first time I've been able to figure out how to post pics in a thread you guys here have been more helpful than I can explain
I've been slowly putting some of the POs quick fixes back to original and getting this beast to some what resemble a real truck

Re: frankenstien
Looks like it has more modern wheels. Thats good. I see it has a bow tie on the hood. Your not going to do the unthinkable are you? j/k Good project.

Re: frankenstien
Nice project. Not that it really matters but that hood does not look like a 68 Chevy. The front looks like it is straight up and down and with the bowtie on it I would say 69-70 Chevy. 67-68 Chevy and GMC the front of the hood slopes back. The black truck is a 67-68 hood and the gray hood in the back ground is a 69-72 hood. Just thought this might help you find what you like.

Re: frankenstien
Thanks Todd I was wondering what the difference was
The PO told me it was a 68 well he also told me the truck was a 56 when he was telling me about it lol I think I like the look of the 67 better now that I can see the difference so now I need to find a 67 hood I already have a lead on a grille Posted via Mobile Device

I am not positive but I think the top bar above the grille is different for each of the 3 styles of GMC grilles. Here is a couple pictures of an automatic cross member so you can compare.

Re: frankenstien
You asked about an upper control arm. See if you can find out if the ones you need are the same as a 69 Chevy C20. I have one that I will be disassembling shortly (hopefully) It shows the same ball joints and control arm bushings for a 68 C30 and a 69 C20. Surly there is someone on here that can answer that question.

Re: frankenstien
Timberjim36: Where have you been? I really want to talk to you about the mailing insurance refund. I would like to either get your money refunded or finish the deal with the crossmember. Thanks
