Suburban cargo door interior handle?

I have looked everywhere and cannot find any information on this. I am doing a 66 burb build, and was wondering if there was a factory option for an interior door release/handle on the cargo doors. I was thinking of how awesome it would be to be able to get in/out from inside the back, and was thinking of rigging something up. I would much prefer something factory (if I could find it) if it existed. Does anyone know? If there wasn't a factory interior handle, have any of you fabbed on up? Let me see! Thanks!

Re: Suburban cargo door interior handle?

On both of my trucks that have barn doors there is an interior vertical release lever in the middle of the post of the door that closes first. Same thing on my buddies 61. I'll try to get a pic up today

Re: Suburban cargo door interior handle?

I have the handle you are talking about that releases the second door. I am wondering about one that releases the primary (passenger) door from the inside. Something that would mount where the access panel is (my picture). I am considering passenger seating that would be accessible from the rear of the truck, and passengers would need something to close and open the primary door.

Shoot....
That one almost looks like you could use something like an '03 Tahoe or Suburban...(or even Astro/Safari) exterior door handle....then figure out if you want to go with " rod style " or " cable type " linkage.
You can do it....
Mostly 'cause no one else did.....

I don't think it was an option from the OEM.
Might be mistaken.......but I don't think so.
