Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

What's a good bucket seat to put in my 1972 C10? There are so many vehicles that can be used I am sure, so what is a good size to put in there and keep my new seats belts I just bought? Thanks in advance!

I can't believe nobody has replied or has any thoughts on some good seats to use. I guess I'll keep looking, thanks.

there are many posts on this topic. The search will help you find them. I personally like leather buckets from the newer trucks

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

Thanks for the replies. Wish I knew where to get some original bucket seats. I agree on them looking best. I'll go look at the local junk yard to see what 04' and up seats they have.

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

up to the mid 80's dodge van seats used the same basic frame and a good upholstery guy can cover them to look very similar to originals
cost is normally a fraction what the "factory originals" cost

They are pricey,... but I'd rather have the original bench seat than some other brand of buckets.
OEM seats look the best in my opinion.

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

I had these in my 70 GMC, replaced with factory buckets. Don't know what they came out of but they are comfortable. I am posting these for sale in the parts forum.

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

A little of both actually. I drive it alot but I am within walking distance to work, so no sense in driving. I am soon to be do a restore and paint with a frame off coming next year or 2 when funds allow. Will post some pics when I can in the forum. Thanks.

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

I have heard people use 2003-2007 Dodge Ram seats.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=386957

Take the headrests off and have some covers made. I think they'd be sharp ! I was going to go this route and decided to go with Cheyenne buckets. the Dodge swap would give you a fold down console, etc. Pretty cool write up on how to do it.

This might be the ticket man.

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

The early buddy buckets were made by Bostrom, the same people that made early jeep lowbacks. You can get some Smittybilt seats for like $130 and make a frame to mount them to.

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

Just posted on another line. The Dodge seat fix looks good. But,does it hide(cover-up) the gas tank? Let me know as the nasty van captain chairs that came with my truck GOTTA go !

Re: Bucket Seats for a 1972 C10

I agree about the gas tank. I know LMC has a carpet to hide it but hiding with seats and console is nice too. I need to look into the dodge seats or the chevy van or suburban seats.
