Short bed stepside fenders are expensive no matter where you buy them new, plus shipping is also pretty high.
The best place to buy them is from someone on the sale section of this forum, craigslist or a junk yard. I was lucky and found a whole bed in near perfect condition for $500.

Re: 68 shortbed stepside
I got mine from a vendor at a big swap meet/car show so I wouldn't have to pay the shipping.
They are pricy, I paid well over $400 each.

Re: 68 shortbed stepside
Since this is your first post Welcome aboard from Central Florida!Yep, stepper fenders arn't cheap. I paid $500 for a whole bed and another $250 to have it delivered from Atlanta, then who knows how much to make it near perfect....but it was worth it.
You should be able to do the same, just keep looking.

Re: 68 shortbed stepside
Yeah .. half the fun of building them is looking for the parts I'll keep my eyes open for you. I had to ship one from Seattle WA to Chattanooga TN but it's in pretty good shape. We found a little skin of filler in it after blasting so, if you can find original paint that's a major plus too.
The biggest thing I wanted was as little rust as possible. I can hammer / dolly better than I can weld.

Re: 68 shortbed stepside
I ended up fixing my existing ones. After welding, sandblasting, priming, and sanding it cost about the same for new ones (without shipping).
