Incoming cool air setup.

What kind of setup do you have for pulling cool air from outside the truck? I am trying to decide on what setup would be best for getting cool air to the carb. I have a 71 C10.

Re: Incoming cool air setup.

Right now I don't run a hood, have a K&N Filter as well as a K&N Top filter.

When I put the fiberglass front end on (with 4" cowl), I will make an air pan and pull cool air front the cowl.

I am considering the same thing with the cowl hood. Just curious about what everybody is doing.

If this works, this is my set up. Hoses connect to the front grille.

Hey Marv, What master cylinder is that? I am assuming the link is a picture of your truck.

Re: Incoming cool air setup.

That master cylinder is a Mopar type.

I run a 7" cowl hood on my Chevy II Super Gas car and I have a air bell with an air pan that seals against the hood:

Here's the one I fabricated for a friend who's engine was mounted at stock height:

Here's what I'm building for the C-10:

Re: Incoming cool air setup.

Yup,, from Jeggie you can get it with the mounting kit for $89, or without for $69

http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...31403/10002/-1

Fittings to go to -an and brainded over teflon lined flex lines from Speedway for cheap.

Yes, including the Super Stocks of the 1963 Z11. I'm planning on using the inlet of the heater port in the cowl as the inlet for the air cleaner.
