Grill Options

So want to get some input on what others think. I've got a 1986 GMC short bed that im building and going for the resto mod look that will be bagged on 22/24's Im debating on grills cause im not a big fan of the 86 gmc grill and i have all the parts to update the front end to the 89-91 style gmc grill but not sure how well it would go with the resto mod look. So just wanting to get ideas or thoughts about either. One thing i dont want to do is put in a chevrolet grill. So with that said fire away! here pics for reference.

Re: Grill Options

When it comes to 81-87 GMC grills IMHO I like the updated look of the 89-91 GMC burb/blazer/crew clip. I don't think it would hurt the restomod look.

Re: Grill Options

I ended up using LMC's special edition grill... i was a little leery of the repop stock one and couldn't find an NOS.

pretty happy with it, looks kinda like a cross between a stock and a billet grill, shapes are more rounded out like a cast piece and you can get it with the GMC emblem. I was a little worried about chromed plastic but it looks great on there and seems like it's gonna hold up nice

i like the gmc grill as well as the chevy 89-91'.they both look good and would be very nice on a pick-up.
