shaved firewall with heat

can anyone point me in the direction to weld the firewall smooth and install a aftermarket heater under the dash a keep the factory controls? thanks

Here's a link to a stand-alone "in the cab" heater unit. Not sure if factory controls would work, but a quick call to these guys would answer that question-eh?
