Dust Shield Staples Help
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any tricks or tips for replacing those factory staples used on radiatior & hood dust shields???? I know they are tought to try to straighten, and I've even heard of people having the staple guns used to install them. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...Bob |

Re: Dust Shield Staples Help
When I did mine, I use stainless staples for a staple gun and used needle nose pliers to bend them. They come in alot of different sizes, just take an old one and find the proper size. I believe the same can be done with front fender seals also.

Re: Dust Shield Staples Help
It depends on how original you want them to look. For a correct restoration look it is best, but tedious, to cut and bend them by hand using heavy wire (piano wire)

Re: Dust Shield Staples Help
Thanks for all the info & help. I have a lead on a guy who is supposed to have one of those GM staple guns too. I was also told by a guy to use galv. wire & bend it w/needle nose & crimp open ends with vise grip to give it that factory stapled look.
