Burb hitches
I have looked at hitches for a while now for my 72 burb. I seen the hidden hitch that mounts behind the license plate - but I really wanted a regular reciever that had a tube slightly below the license plate. After allot of looking I finally found what I was looking for - but hard to get ahold of one. Then a couple weeks ago I found one on Amazon - cheap - came last week - just finished installing it - fit like a glove.
It is a Valley hitch # 81190 I will get a pict in the next couple of days. |

Re: Burb hitches
Looks like you had to add some shims...did they come with the kit? What are your thoughts of the kit and install?

Re: Burb hitches
everything came with it - including bolts/nuts/spacers - had to rat 2 holes @1/16 larger- other than that I am very happy with it. Problem was getting ahold of one - took me over a year to locate one.

Re: Burb hitches
nice looking hitch. i was looking at one a couple years ago for my Burb. but i felt 7500lbs max rating wasn't good enough for a C20 (i like at least 10k on a full size truck) i got a Curt hitch rated for 15,000lbs. only prob is it would fit a pickup perfectly, but the curvature in the burb frame meant it sits way too low and requires a ton of spacers. i plan to have it modified for a custom fit with like 1/2 an inch gap between the receiver and the license plate. found after i bought it that they make a 1 piece version so i might have mine welded up for a cleaner look (rather than spend another $200) and coat it with poly truck bed liner for protection, not that the powder coat is failing yet.
