New Toy!

Im new to this site but just got a 1969 Short wide. So i fell its fitting to share and already ask for some help. The truck is in awesome shape do to the fact the previous owner bought all new sheetmetal. The only bad spot is the filler hole for the gas, someone "tried" to fill and shave it but the guy I got it from "tried to cut it back in. My question is, Is there anyone on here that has a donar truck and that is willing to cut me ou a patch panel? I need prob. 3" above and 3" below filler hole. I would like to make a patch but I dont own the tooling to do so. Thanks

Re: 1969 C-10 New Toy!

Well I made some progress yesterday on the 69. I pulled the frontend off and also pulled the 6 cylinder along with the 3 speed. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Re: New Toy!

Guess I should have asked earlier........ are you trying to cover over the hole or do you want to put the stock filler neck back thru?

Re: New Toy!

Are you keeping the 6 cyl or swapping to a V8? If you are getting rid of the 6, the p/s brackets and HEI distributor are probably worth salvaging.

Re: New Toy!

Yes, the HEI and PS setup for that 6 is definitely worth keeping or selling off. They are getting to be an even bigger pain in the butt to find with each passing day.

Re: New Toy!

Good to know richard. whenever is fine.
@ MARKDTN I m swapping a v8 into my truck. the 6 cyl I would like to sell as a whole just so i can clean up a little. If it dont sell after awhile I will prob. part it out. Its a shame bc previous owner had it all rebuilt.
Thanks for the input

Welcome aboard from Central Florida. I see you already have found out that there are some very nice people here, like Richard, that are always willing to help a fellow board member. When it's your turn you can do the same for someone else.
