Hard to dislike California...

with sunsets like this, that is. Pardon my artsy fartsy side, but could not resist a few pics out in the desert tonight. We rarely get clouds, but when we do, look out! Enjoy.

Maybe I never looked as closely at your truck before, but that fiery sky really makes it pop. Man, it looks CLEAN! Nice pics.

Just to add to the love for California. I washed my car today in shorts, t-shirt and a pair of flip flops. You got to love it.

For some reason, I really like the color of your truck!

Re: Hard to dislike California...

Spectacular! I've been looking for a photo of my truck in similar lighting. We have many unbelievable sunsets in this part of the world, but so far I've been unable to find a location suitable for a truck photo that isn't full of background clutter.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Hard to dislike California...

Ha, how true Mark - I had to drive out of town about 3 minutes to be in the middle of nowhere, kinda nice. Thanks for the comments, glad you all enjoyed the pics. I like the color of the truck too - have to admit it's kinda growin on me. 10 years ago if you'd told me I'd have a light blue truck, I'd have fallen over backwards. But I can't imagine changing it. Thanks again and happy new year!

Re: Hard to dislike California...

You should seriously consider submitting a photo next year to the Stovebolt.com annual 60-66 wall calendar.

http://www.cafepress.com/+6066_stove...dar,423838385#

I believe they start requesting photos around October for inclusion in the following year calendar. If they don’t get enough new submissions they have to run with what they had the previous year.

Re: Hard to dislike California...

Hey Mark, thanks for the link, I did see that call for pics on stovebolt a while back, but didn't have a good one like this available, will have to keep that in mind. And by the way, congrats on July!! I thought I saw two Tony Smith-built trucks in there as well. very cool. I need a calendar too!

Oh, and there's ZERO smog on this side of the sierra nevadas. Clear as a bell. (but you are right Richard, smog can make some nice sunsets too, in a strange kinda way...)

Hey, here in the L.A. area, at least we can see what what we're breathing. You poor guys have no idea what you're taking into your lungs. haha.

Ha! Good point. I'm sure some medical discovery will soon prove that even clean air can kill ya (just in case the sidewinders don't).

Us folks here in the Northwest get some pretty good background skies, too.
Usually during forest fire season.
Mark....
I'm thinkin' your best location for a Photo Shoot might be with Lake Coure de Lane..(spellcheck..??).as a back-drop.
You sure do live in a nice corner of the state.

Jocko...
Absolutely breathtaking.
