Jaguar XJ gauges in my GMC

I snagged these gauges for 96 bucks along with the mounting bracket (less than a single autometer) and welded in the bracket today, what do you guys

Its even got a 6 cyl label on the tach and I have a 250, Thought that was pretty cool

does anyone know what each wire is on the round stock connector? Ive got the jag side figured out but not on the gmc side any help would be great so i can get these things hooked up and working

I was thinking about cutting out the center of my stock cluster and sandwiching it between the metal bracket and a faceplate that i have yet to make. any advice/ideas on making up the difference between the gauge face and the bracket?

Re: Jaguar XJ gauges in my GMC

Look at the bright side though, you'll never have to put gas in and the gauge will always say full! Cool gauges!

Re: Jaguar XJ gauges in my GMC

maybe Jag is positive to ground and you have them now neg to ground. Maybe that is why they may be backwards.

Re: Jaguar XJ gauges in my GMC

My gas gauge reads full as soon as I turn it on? I checked the grounds, they all looked good and my stock gauge worked just fine. Could the impedance be different? If so could I buy/make my sender work with the gauge?

Re: Jaguar XJ gauges in my GMC

I've got all the gauges working except for the oil pressure, which I believe I need a different wiring or sender? Any input would be great
and the temp gauge, the stock one never worked so I'm clueless.
If any electrical genius could help I'd be much appreciative and invite you over for beer and beef!

Re: Jaguar XJ gauges in my GMC

In order for those gauges to work correctly, you are going to have to use the Jaguar senders, including the gas gauge sender. Unless of course Jaguar happens to use a 0-30 ohms sender for their gas gauge.....doubtful though.
