'91 Sub A-pillar gauge pods needed... Found 'em(possibly!) Read on...
I want to install 2 or 3 Autometer gauges in my 1991 Suburban. I want them installed in the a-pillar on the drivers side. Does anyone know of a part number for this part? I can't find anything anywhere! I heard once that the gauge pod for a Honda or another ricer would fit almost perfectly but I can't find any other info after a lot of searching.
Please help! P.S. I finally got a digi cam and hope to post some pics of my Suburban sooner than later. Also, anyone got pics of their custom a-pillar gauges (within a pod or not?!).

I have seen this question come up 2 or 3 times before. I have never seen anyone say they had found one. It may be that our trucks are not popular enough yet for anyone to be maing one.

I see that most A-pillar mounted gauges usually have a plastic trim piece mounted there. My truck does not have one there. Does yours? This may be why we have not been able to find one.

I'm not positive, but I seem to remember that one of the pods off a ricer was almost a perfect match!
I'll try to get ahold of Autometer and see if they can't help. I tried ProPods but they can't seem to understand that a 1991 Sub is different than a 1991 pickup, for which they make gauge pods ('88+). Please post if you have or obtain further info.

NO one makes one.. You can use others but you will have to do some modifications to it and it wont fit right either.

I found a place called Lo-Tek that makes hella many gauge pods, but none for our trucks. HOWEVER, if at least 20 people place orders they will custom build them for our trucks. This would be cool as heck.
If you are interested in getting something like this going, please post here. Check it out at www.gaugepods.com. This is a for real company, they make lots of these for other cars and are excellent quality. I've seen them in numerous Grand Prix's like my wife's car. Let's see if we can't get at least 20 people to preorder and get this going.

I would be interested in the pods if it isn't too expensive.

On their website, scroll down to the bottom of the PRODUCTS page and it tells about custom orders. It seems you can order 1,2 or 3 gauge pods as long as at least 20 people preorder (and prepay). Obviously the overall fitment won't change--just the number of gauges you want. I want a three gauge pod.
If anyone else is interested, post your reply here. I'll e-mail the company tomorrow.

you can count me in if the price is reasonable. Also you need to check if they are wanting all the pods to be the same. I dont think they will make some two gauge and some three. I believe they will all have to be the same. for a run of 20 Dont matter to me I go with a 3 or 2 pod

Capital 68--no, that actually sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm e-mailing them tomorrow and I'll ask them a lot of ?'s and refer them here, also. I've already got my Sport Comp gauges picked out so I really hope we can make this happen. I know we could use the mounting cups but I don't want to drill into my dash and the gauge pods just look really trick and make for a clean install IMHO.
Thanks for the support so far.

Any news from Lo-tek yet? I'm ready to spend the $$$, assuming they take credit card and will ship international.
