1972 in for parts

Just got this in and there's not much left. Base model V8 truck with no options. Here's a partial list of decent parts:

- 3.08 open coil spring rear end. $200. No shipping, pick up

- Nice, straight chrome front bumper. Chrome has small specks in it but no flaking. One small dent (pic) that may push out from the back side. Includes brackets. $75 + shipping.

- Outer grill shell. Not too shiny and has some small scrapes out the outer edges. Real straight. $50 + shipping.

- Good heater core housing. $40 shipped in US.

- 3/4 ton brake booster. Truck was running a few months ago so it should be ready to bolt on. $60 + shipping.

If you see anything else you want, post it and I'll get a price. Thanks.

Joshua

Re: 1972 in for parts

I would like the front bumper and the power brake booster. How much for shipping to 10901?

Also interested in either of the inner fenders if they are in good shape, and Undone does not take the pass side since he did ask for it first.

How is the metal on the inside of the heater box?

Thanks!

Re: 1972 in for parts

I've been looking for a rust free drivers front fender cup. If the one on this truck is clean with no rust through, I'll take it and pay you for your time to cut it off right under the body line. Should fit in a USPS box. Let me know, thanks

Re: 1972 in for parts

Sorry guys, been away from the computer for a while.

Undone - Pass, outer and inner fenders have some rust. The radiator support is actually pretty good. There is some scaly rust under the battery, but not rotted through. However, for some reason, the radiator support is welded up in the center - top and bottom. I have no idea why?? I'll get some pics if you are interested.
72 Chevy truck - Cab is pretty decent. Floors look good with no rust, 3 of the cab supports are perfect, one has nickle sized rust hole. It has new rockers installed, there is a rust hole on the dr. side firewall, top looks good. Pass. door is pretty nice, but has speaker hole. Dr. fender is real good, pass has just a little rust on the front cup. $300 for cab, door and front cap.
DD1 - I'll get a quote for the bumper and booster later tonight. Neither inner fender is good. I'll have to remove the heater box to check out the metal.
yfs200p - I don't want to cut the fender up just yet - it's in pretty good shape.
TripleNickel - I'll keep you up to date on the bumper.

Re: 1972 in for parts

Thanks, JQ. I just want to check and see if the booster includes the mounting brackets. I want to add the power brake booster to my 71 C10 which does not currently have power brakes. Also, is the master cylinder included in that?

Re: 1972 in for parts

DD1 - Booster set will include booster, brackets, rod, master cylinder and proportioning valve. Shipping will be $25 on this (it's heavy!). I included a picture of the heater box housing - it looks real good. Again, $40 shipped is for the housing only, a little more if you want heater core and fan.

On the bumper, UPS online is quoting $54 to ship it, but seems like the last one I shipped was less than that. We'll call if $40 shipping - if it's more, I'll just take a loss.

Hawgwrestler - The column is for manual transmission. If this is what you need, it's $70 shipping included. It looks like a good column and has good turn signal switch in it.

Re: 1972 in for parts

Here's some more pictures of the cab for member 1972 Chevy Trucks. If he passes, it's open to anyone else. Again, floor pans are great, rust in kick panel corners. New rockers installed (need smoothed up), rust spot on dr. side firewall and rusty in firewall channel, but no holes. One cab corner has a few pinholes, one cab support has a small rust spot but the others look OK. Roof looks good. Good windshield and back glass. Radio hole has been cut. $250 for the cab.

Re: 1972 in for parts

Thanks, JQ. I will take all 3.

Re the heater box: I picked up a heater box from someone on Ebay, but the back was really rusted, yours is way nicer. I'll suck up the loss on the Ebay purchase and get yours. I will probably go with just the box, but out of curiosity, how much is it shipped for everything? Might not hurt to have a spare heater core and fan considering I don't know what kind of shape mine are in.

So, I am looking at $115 for the bumper, $75 for the brake booster, and $40+ on the heater box depending on whether I take the fan and core. Is my math accurate?

You take Paypal? If so, PM me the details.

Thanks!!!!

Re: 1972 in for parts

Question: Do you anticipate me having any problems mounting the brake booster on a truck that does not have one? Is there anything else I will need to get or do to the cab beforehand? I am new to working on these trucks and it's too damn cold for me to look outside right now.

Re: 1972 in for parts

DD1 - No modifications will need to be made - the booster is a direct bolt on. $115 for the bumper, $85 for booster (60 + 25), $50 shipped for the complete heater assembly. I'll try to get the booster and heater parts in one box to save a little shipping, but if I can't securely package them I'll have to do 2 boxes.

Ashley - wiring harness is butchered up pretty bad.

ElCampo - UPS online quoted $38 shipping + 40 for both lower A arms = $78

72SWB - battery has typical rust - no too nice in my opinion.

Re: 1972 in for parts

Thanks, JQ. I'll take the heater box with everything for the $50 and the brake booster for $85. I'll have to pass on the bumper right now as I am getting a hard time from the wife on spending cash right after the holidays. I apologize for any inconvenience. The bumper is less of a priority right now, but I definitely need the booster and heater box.

Let me know how to pay you.

Thanks!
